This wallpaper was discovered in the attic but originally crowned the bed of Madame de la Motte Baracé’s mother. Farrow & Ball's Creative Director redesigned the fading fragment into a striking, sophisticated pattern.

Handcrafted in Dorset using traditional methods and their very own paint.
Expertly Handcrafted
Using traditional printing methods and bespoke equipment, every roll of Farrow & Ball wallpaper is made in small batches by their artisans at their Dorset factory for an extraordinary finish.
A coat of the background colour is brushed on, creating the same visible brushstrokes, texture and added depth it would have in the 18th century. Then the embellishment follows, using flatbed, roller or the open-trough method. These techniques mean every repeat of the pattern is slightly different and completely unique.
Created Using Their Paints
You won’t find wallpaper like theirs anywhere else.
Farrow & Ball's wallpaper is paint on paper, rather than digitally printed ink, and not just any paint, they use their very own richly pigmented, water based paints. Paint on paper creates a beautifully tactile, textured finish that adds interest to any wall. Using Farrow & Ball paint in particular, means every design has the unrivalled richness and depth of colour they’re known for. The final touch is a fine layer of protective glaze.
Sustainably Sourced Paper
To try and lessen their impact on the planet, they’ve made sure all the paper they use is sourced from sustainably managed forests and because their wallpaper contains no vinyl, any off-cuts are recyclable. Do check the specific policy in your local area to see how to recycle yours.
