A sustainable dish brush that helps you replace plastic dish brushes in the kitchen. Read more.
Featuring longer bristles and a thicker bamboo head that is less prone to cracking, this long handle dish brush replacement head is designed to last longer and create more suds when you wash dishes. The handle features a nice hook to easily hang in various places in your kitchen and when it is time to replace the brush head it is fast and simple thanks to an improved metal clasp design.
MATERIALS: Bamboo grown without pesticides. Agave fibre or palmyra fibre (plant fibre) bristles. Metal staples to hold the bristles. Sealed with a water-based polyurethane varnish (non-plastic synthetic material similar to rubber - non-toxic wood coating to reduce cracking and splitting).
Casa Agave® agave fibre bristles are grown, harvested, sun-dried and processed in Mexico using traditional techniques to ensure a high quality and strong natural fibre.
Moso bamboo, known as the giant bamboo or timber bamboo, has been used for centuries to fashion buildings, flooring and culinary tools. The young shoots are often prepared into Asian dishes. TFSC certified by TÜV SÜD Czech, Prague.
CARE: Each brush head can be used for months. Make sure to not submerge or soak the wooden parts in water. Hang to dry or place in a dry spot after using it.
If you find your brush head is not staying dry, dip the bristles in vinegar occasionally to help kill bacteria. The wood and bamboo are naturally antibacterial but the vinegar will help too.
Stop using the brush and replace it if you see any mold growth.
To reduce cracking, keep the bamboo parts dry and do not soak or submerge them in water. Cracking is normal for brushes over time. They are biodegradable and won't last forever like plastic!
REPLACING BRUSH HEAD: Squeeze the wires together, loosen the metal grip, and pop off the brush head. Just slide a new brush head on and replace the metal grip that holds it tight.
END OF LIFE: Separate materials and bury in garden, compost or dispose of wood and agave bristles to biodegrade. Metal staples are recyclable.
