Lemon is a top note. It has a zestful, sweet and fresh citrus note with a hint of tartness that many are familiar with.
This essential oil is well known for its ability to combat both oily and dry skin, acne, and is often found in anti-aging and brightening skin serums. When diffused or inhaled, it is a wonderful treat for those suffering from asthma, sore throats, bronchitis, sinus infections, and virtually all respiratory infections. It has been noted for its ability to gently soothe gout, rheumatism, and arthritis, and is an excellent choice for increasing circulation. Blends well with other citrus oils like grapefruit, lime, bergamot, and orange. Minty oils like peppermint, Douglas fir, and wintergreen create a fresh and harmonious scent when combined with lemon. Spicy oils like cinnamon bark, frankincense, and clove can add a powerful punch to lemon blends. Woody oils like cedarwood, cypress, and Douglas fir can create a grounding and uplifting aroma when combined with lemon. Some floral oils like jasmine, rose, and ylang-ylang can complement the bright scent of lemon. Some herbal oils like rosemary and tea tree can also be used in blends with lemon Â
