Product Description

The MINA Pitcher uses a two-stage filtration system that removes contaminants and then adds essential minerals, creating great-tasting water that supports your health.

Designed to easily fit in your refrigerator for refreshing and cold hydration.

Tested to NSF Standards 42, 53, and 401 for water quality and the reduction of chemicals and contaminants.

WHAT IT DOES:

  • Filters 99% chlorine, a chemical disinfectant that can damage healthy gut flora.
  • Filters 99% lead, a neurotoxin that’s especially harmful to children.
  • Filters 90+ contaminants including heavy metals, PFAS + PFOS, and VOCs.
  • Adds essential minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium to support your health.
  • Raises the pH level by up to +2.0.
  • Creates great-tasting mineral-rich water for healthy hydration.
  • Gives 100 days of clean drinking water to communities in water poverty.

HOW THE FILTER WORKS:

  • First Stage - Filtration
The MINA Filter uses granulated activated carbon (GAC) to reduce chemicals like chlorine and mercury, as well as ion-exchange resin to filter heavy metals like lead and cadmium.
  • Second Stage - Mineralization
Ordinary filters strip away essential minerals that your body needs to thrive. Santevia infuses healthy minerals like calcium and magnesium into water to support your optimal body balance and make your water taste great.

HOW TO ENJOY:  Before using your MINA Pitcher for the first time please do the following:

  1. Wash MINA Pitcher with mild detergent or wash in dishwasher.
  2. Condition your filter by placing it under running water for 1 minute. While under running water, shake the filter while tapping the sides to get rid of excess carbon, or until the water runs clear.
  3. Insert new filter into upper tank. Press firmly to ensure tight seal.
  4. Fill tank three times and discard (use water for plants).
  5. Fill tank a fourth time and start enjoying freshly filtered and mineralized water.

Always follow these 5 steps each time you replace your MINA filter.

FAQs:

  1. Why is my MINA Pitcher filtering slowly or not filtering? Your MINA Filter may be filtering slowly or may not be allowing water through to the lower tank for two reasons:
    • Reason 1 - The MINA Pitcher holds 9 cups of water. Once this amount is reached, any more water that is added to the upper tank will not be able to filter through to the lower tank. As a consequence, it will remain unfiltered in the upper tank until you pour some water out of the pitcher.
    • Reason 2 - If your MINA Pitcher is taking a long time to filter, you may have air bubbles in your filter which prevent water from passing through. Many faucets introduce air into the stream of water as the water leaves the tap. Occasionally this allows air bubbles to become trapped within the filter, slowing down or blocking the flow of water from the upper to the lower tank. A gentle tap of the pitcher on the counter will "burp" the filter, release the air bubble, and allow water to filter through.
  2. What are the black particles in my pitcher and how do I get rid of them? The particles in your pitcher are excess Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) pieces that have escaped the filter. These are not harmful to consume and do not reduce the functionality of your filter. These particles are typically flushed out in the preparation stage, but it's possible for them to appear in your pitcher during use. To reduce them, please remove your filter from the pitcher and re-rinse the filter under running water. Be sure to shake actively and thoroughly until the water from your filter runs clear. Please note that GAC particles are not harmful if ingested.

  3. Why can't I pour water out of the pitcher right after filling it? After filling the pitcher, the water takes a few minutes to filter into the lower tank before the pitcher is poured. This ensure's the water is thoroughly filtered prior to you drinking it. If you pour water from the pitcher while water is still in the upper tank, two things may happen; non-filtered water will likely enter your cup as water will escape via the gaps around the lid, or the lid could pop off if you do not hold the lid as you pour.

  4. By how much does the MINA Pitcher increase the pH of water? The MINA Pitcher increases the pH of water by about 1.5 - 2.0 units on the pH scale. Results may vary depending on the source water.

END OF LIFE:

Here's how to recycle your MINA Filter:

  • Open the filter lid by turning it counterclockwise.
  • Discard the filtration contents.
  • Pull out the middle divider.
  • Discard the mineral contents into potted plants, garden soil, or the compost.
  • Recycle the filter and its parts as Type 5 Plastics.

Ethically made in Canada.
